Gospel Filmmaker Dr. Moses Korede Are Laid to Rest as Family and Drama Ministers Pay Tribute
The late gospel filmmaker and president of Calvary Drama Ministry, Dr. Moses Korede Are, widely known as Baba Gbenro, has been laid to rest in Ogbomosho, Oyo State. His burial took place on Friday, 31st January 2025, at Orita Aje, Iresa-Apa, following a solemn service held at House to House Prayer Ministries, Inc.
Dr. Moses Korede Are, who passed away at the age of 59, was honored with a Christian wake-keep and a Drama Night on Thursday, 30th January 2025. The events brought together family, friends, and members of the gospel film industry to celebrate his impactful life and ministry.
A Message of Reflection and Readiness
During the burial service, Pastor John Ojo delivered a thought-provoking sermon titled “A Blessed Person or a Cursed Person; Choose Where You Want to Belong.” He emphasized the inevitability of death, describing it as a vehicle that transports individuals from this corrupt world to eternity. He urged the congregation to always be spiritually prepared, as death gives no warning and can occur at any moment.
The cleric further highlighted that Dr. Moses Korede Are lived a purposeful life, understanding and fulfilling his divine calling. He encouraged attendees to reflect on their choices, as the final destination of one’s life is determined by the path they choose.

The burial was attended by renowned drama ministers, including Joseph Yemi Adepoju, Shola Mike Agboola, Yemi and Feyi Adepoju, Kolade and Sunmbo Segun-Okeowo, Isaac Femi-Akintunde, Adeoye Omoniyi, Kayode Babalola, Tolu Adegbo, Seun Adejumobi, Femi Adebile, Paul Esu-Pofo, Bunmi Bamitale, Rotimi Amodu, Seyi Pedro-Adetola, Ayobami and Adebimpe Adegboyega, among others. Their presence underscored the deep respect and admiration they held for the late filmmaker.
